Live Auction

Even if you are not joining us at the event, you can support the Weinstein JCC and our mission to ensure that our programs, resources and services are accessible to all in our community by bidding by proxy* on our three exciting culinary-focused live auction offerings.

Live Auction Rules and Procedures

Guests of The Center Plate will be given programs with their bidder number in order to bid on live auction items. Guests should place bids by raising their bid number and awaiting acknowledgement from the auctioneer. Those who are not planning to attend The Center Plate may bid on live auction items by placing a proxy bid in advance. A staff volunteer will bid on behalf of the proxy in the live auction and will not bid higher than the proxy. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer will be the purchaser. In the event of doubt on the part of the auctioneer as to the validity of any bid, the auctioneer will have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the lot in question.  Each bid legally obligates the bidder to pay the full amount if his or her bid is deemed to be the winning bid.

*Interested in bidding remotely by proxy? Please contact Margret O'Keefe at 804-545-8609 or [email protected].

Tickets for the Center Plate are sold out. To sign up for the wait list, please email Jennifer Adams at [email protected].

About The Center Plate

The Center Plate creates a uniquely moving and delicious experience by taking guests on a coursed dinner that pairs with an interactive narrative. By merging the worlds of food and storytelling, the evening fosters community and moves guests through a singular culinary journey.

The Center Plate fundraiser supports the Weinstein JCC's efforts to build a foundation of wellness in our community to help individuals and families live healthier and happier lives. The evening festivities will include cocktails, a coursed dinner, a select culinary-focused live auction and opportunities to give back during the Tzedakah portion of the evening and connect and strengthen our community. Proceeds from this signature event help support the Weinstein JCC's mission to ensure that our programs, resources and services are accessible to all in our community.

The second annual event will feature award-winning chef Alon Shaya, with food and stories inspired by his cookbook/memoir, Shaya: An Odyssey of Food, My Journey Back to Israel.
